This method has three simple rules which are as follows:

Tell them what you are going to tell them.
Â
Tell them.
Tell them what you have told them.
It sounds stupid but it works really well, I will explain each section a little.
Tell them; what you are going to tell them for example; this morning we are going to look at penguins, patience and Philipians 2. (This is a simple introduction so every one knows what the point is and what they need to focus on.
Tell them; this is the content of the talk which must include the content you mentioned in the introduction and try to stick to it. Use good illustrations, visuals etc as long as they are not surpize elements.
Tell them; what you have told them; this is the conclusion, round it all up and leave them with bite size chunks of the main points that they will remember when they get home. Catch phrases are good for this as they stick in our minds.
When ever I use this method the feedback is usually good, and I’m sure part of that is because it stops unecessary waffle.
