Scenario 2: Bad day at school.
These scenarios have been tried and tested with young people at Prospex, and have been written by myself and Maxine. They are best used by givig a group the scenario and some time to put their role play together and then present. We have found that leaving them to it without direction from yourselves gives a truer insight to how they see thingsÂ
The Scenario:Â
You are in school and have had a really bad morning at home before you got to school. The lesson is boring and some class mates are annoying you. You then get angry which ends up with a confrontation with a teacher and this ends up with you being removed from the class room.
Get the group to act this in a role play and ask them to show what happened next, and how their parent/s / carer reacts when they find out.
Don’t forget when discussing afterwards to ask if they had reacted differently with the teacher what might have happened.
Tis scenrio can give some real insight into the things that trigger young people to get into trouble at school.
