Massive Attack: 100th Window

If you are looking for music that lifts you and leaves you feeling happy then don’t use this, however if you are looking for music that is reflective, deep and really makes you think then it is well worth checking this out.

This album has a dark, heavy, melancholy feel added to by the haunting vocals of Sinead O Connor but some tracks could be used very effectively with young people.

Track 2: What your Souls sings starts with; “Don’t be afraid – open your mouth and say- say what your soul sings to u.”

The meaning of the whole can be taken several ways but as a whole it is a very thought provoking song and could lead to some great discussion.

Track 6: A Prayer for England cries out that no more children should be harmed whilst taking a pop at bad teachers that represent God badly.

There is loads in here to get discussions going from false teachers, how we represent our faith, how Christianity is seen, the state our country is in and the need to pray to name a few.

These songs would probably only work if you have young people into the band if not the style would probably make them switch off.
