Tree Planting
This is something I had the pleasure of doing when I was ten planting one of many conker trees (Horse Chestnut if you want to be correct) in the village I lived in. It is now very mature and I have had the joy of taking my girls to collect conkers from it.

If you can plant a tree preferably in a public place that ties into significant spiritual event in the life of the group it can be a powerful reminder for years.

When done well you can hold a service at the tree five years on, ten years etc. The parallels with the trees growth and their own faith can be striking and Psalm 1 makes a good reading to use.

You will find individuals from the group make their own visits and it becomes a place where they connect with God. It is also very good environmentaly something that Christians should be serious about.
