The sound of silence.
Â
Arrange to take your group to a working Abbey or monastery preferably oÂne that has a vow of silence and spend the day there with your group.

Â
Most of these will have several small chapels and beautiful grounds.

For many this is a really daunting thought especially the silence but most come away changed.

Â
Get them to bring Bibles and give them some verses to read and some thoughts to guide each hour but allow plenty of space for them to contemplate for themselves.

Â
Before you go encourage them to use the space to pray and listen, a note book and pen is a good idea.

Â
You may wish to take a pack lunch and take a break at lunch time so the group can speak but personally I would go for the whole day.

Â
If you can get the nuns or monks to sing for the group during oÂne of their prayer times this will also make a lasting impact.

Â
Often the journey home is pretty quiet as well as they contemplate what they have experienced.

Â
Are you brave enough?
