The idea for this is to get people to donate things free of charge that you can then auction. <P>
Be creative: If someone works with computers get them to give lessons free in the person who wins the bid home. Other ideas are a chef to cook a meal for 8 in your home. Baby sitting on New Years Eve. If someone has a holiday home, get give it to you for a week or two to the highest bidder. Ironning done for 6 months. Dog walking. Gardening. Taxis service to the airport and back again. <P>
You get the idea, you can also get local buisnesses to give items that can be auctioned off. <P>
Once you have all the items produce a booklet with the starting bid and details of what the money is being raised for so people can come knowing what they want. <P>
Another good option is to include a meal (fish and chip supper) etc and charge for this plus a bit to come. <P>
If you know a good band get them to play at the start and during the meal. <P>
For the auction get someone with the gift of the gab to to this because if they create enthusiasm people get caught up in the moment and bid higher. <P>
It really is worth the time involved and will be a memorable night as well as a good fundraiser. <P>
