Each team will need three milk crates,

two short planks of wood that won’t snap with lots of people oÂn them and some objects that are difficult to carry.

Mark a start and finish line in the room and oÂn go the teams using oÂnly the given equipment have to get themselves and all the equipment to the finish line in the fastest possible time.

No oÂne must touch the floor or any of the objects to be carried if this happens make them start again or give a time penalty.

Watch to see who naturally takes control.
Â
In the centre of the room fix balloons high above the heads of the young people.

Give each team three news papers, a roll of sticky tape and a drawing pin.

On the given word the teams have five minutes to devise a way of bursting the balloons using oÂnly the given equipment.

No oÂnes feet must leave the floor in the process.

The winner is the team that can burst the most balloons in one minute.
The brief:
In the given time (30 mins minimum) the teams have to construct the tallest free standing balloon tower they can.

The balloons can be taped together but cannot be taped to the floor. Points will be awarded for artistic design.

This works really well when there are several teams attempting it at the same time.

For this you will need a remote control car (I got a good oÂne for under £10)

Six dustpans,

about 15-20 tennis balls or coloured plastic balls, masking tape and a stopwatch.

Set up:

Using the tape mark out a rectangle about 2.4 x 3.4m and place the dustpans in each corner and two in the middle so that it resembles a pool table.
