Keep it tight.

This is a different parachute game that came about in a bit of freetime on a weekend and worked really well.

For this you need the chute, large ball, a number of cones and a large space.

Set up a course with the cones that act like a large slarlem.

This is a timed event and can either be one team trying to beat their own time or teams competting against each other.

Mountain

Get everyone evenly spaced around the chute and get a steady pace going.

On the given word when the chute is up everyone runs in and sits on the edge of the chute they are holding only staying on the outside.

This involves a quick turn before sitting and is quite tricky but after a few goes it can normally be achieved.

When the group gets it it is very satisfying.

Cool down.

For this about a third of the group lie under the chute with their heads near the middle.

Everyone else spreads evenly around the chute and then raises and lowers it slowly.

The effect is like sitting under an enormous fan and visually looks great.

A few of these and everyone is nicely cooled down.

This is a great way to end a session as it normally has a calming effect.

Pray like Mad

One volunteer sits in the middle of the parachute with their hands above their heads as if they are praying.

Everyone around the chute takes hold of the edge in their right hand and all face clock wise.

Then get everyone to take one step inwards so that the chute has some slack.

Mushroom

Get everyone evenly spread around the chute and get them to lift it high and then down low do this a few times and establish a steady pace (not to fast).

Then on the given word when the parachute is in the air every one runs in and sits on the piece of parachute they are holding.

If done well this results in the chute staying like a mushroom which they find really satisfying.

Cat and Mouse

Get everyone to take off his or her shoes and stand around the chute.

One person becomes a mouse and goes under the chute on their hands and knees.

Another becomes a cat and stands on top of the chute.

The object is for the cat to catch the mouse.

Around the Edge

Everyone stands around the chute and holds it with both hands.

The beach ball is then placed on the edge and the object is to make the ball roll all the way around the edge as many times as possible without it stopping.

This is achieved by lifting the chute at different sections to produce an even slope so that the ball is always rolling down hill.
