3 words.

Young people often find it difficult to express themselves. This is a simple method to get them thinking about themselves, how they feel about themselves and how they think people see them.

Give each young person paper and a large marker pen ask them to write 3 words that they think describe them best, one word per page.

Touch the can.

Ah the simple ones are the best. This is a prime example all you need is a standard size drink can per 15ish people.

Place the can on the floor and the challenge is that they have to try and touch the can 15-16 is possible beyond that is pushing it, but maybe possible.

It has to be a physical touch, hair does not count.

The thing!

Get everyone to choose one item in their possesion and then give one minutes silence to think about that object.

At the end of the minute they have to share their thoughts about the object with the person on their right and the on their left so each person shares.

It can be amazing how deep it becomes however it might just be funny when someone shares the thoughts of their hanky?

Either way it still breaks the ice.

Wink Murder

Matcher

Screamer

Get everyone to stand in a circle so they can see everybodys eyes.

Explain you will give two commands repeatedly these are, heads down and heads up.

When you say heads down everyone looks at the floor.

When you say heads up everyone looks up and straight into the eyes of someboby else.

Their are two consequences if the person you look at is looking into someone elses eyes you do nothing.

If however you stare straight into someones eyes so they are looking straight back, they must point at each other dramatically and scream loudly.

They are then out and must sit down in the cicle and watch as the game continues. Noisey, funny and strangely theroputic!

Take what you need!

I really like this icebreaker I experienced lately.

Throw out a roll of toilet paper or more if a large group and ask each person to take as much as they need, but don’t tell them what it is for.

When eveyone has what they feel they need get them to tear each sheet into sqaures at the perferation.

Now for each square they have they must share one fact about themselves.

You can guarentee that at least one person will need to give a short life story due to the quantity taken!
