The Mind Machine

The Scene:

The scene is a laboratory with a large object covered in a white cloth a professor (white coat etc) comes in and addresses the congregation. Some eerie music works well here! The professor has a dodgy accent, all his w become v.

Characters: A mad Professor, a stupid assistant and a dog (Or any animal you have a mask for or use face paints).

Oh well that’s life I suppose!

N.B.: This can raise a lot of strong feelings so don’t do this if someone in your group has suffered a loss recently. However whenever we have used it young people have found it really helpful as an introduction to the subject.

For the coffin: We made ours out of cardboard so it was the right shape etc but not too realistic. Leaders dressed in black and dim lighting all add to the affect.

The Trial Of Adamski and Evesy

The more effort you put into making the room like a courtroom the more the young people will get into the role as the jury.
Although this take some time to pull off it is well worth the effort.
To add to the build up send the young people a letter stating that they are required for jury service and must attend at the given time, failure to attend is a contempt of court.

Expecting a surprise?
